An honest journal, grounded in scripture.
Lament, give thanks, confess, or just write, starting from a passage of the Bible. What your people write is theirs alone.
Every day opens on someone talking to God: a lament one day, a thanksgiving the next, from sixty passages in the Thread Study Bible. The whole Berean Standard Bible is inside the app, so every passage is looked up, never generated.
Four ways to write
Each kind of entry has its own shape.
Lament
For what hurts, walked through the four movements the psalmists used: address, complaint, request and trust. On a Psalm 88 day, trust can stay empty and the entry is still whole.
Give thanks
For a good day and what made it one: who you are thanking, what happened, and the telling of it.
Confess
For what you have done, in the shape of Psalm 51: asking for mercy, what you did, what you are asking, and what God has promised.
Just write
No shape asked of it. A title if you want one, and whatever is on your mind.
A lament can be brought back later, and one given thanks for is kept under Remembered. Beside them, the Library: ten short studies, five on how grief was practiced in scripture and five guides to the hardest psalms. Crisis support is reachable from anywhere in the app.
With the plan
Writing is free. A seat adds the rest.
Their words, as a psalm
An entry, shaped into a psalm in the couplets of Hebrew poetry.
Someone who has been there
A person in scripture who has been where they are, gave thanks for something like it, or confessed something like it.
A reflection and a painting
A reflection written back to them, and a watercolor painting of each week.
Patterns
What keeps coming up across their journal.
For adults, and for teens once every parent they have linked in Emberside says yes.
Theirs alone
A journal is read by the person who writes it.
Nobody at your church can open one, leaders and admins included.
Kept in their account
On a new phone, signing in brings back every entry.
Locked when they want
Opened with the phone’s screen lock, or a PIN of its own.
Theirs to take
A plain PDF or an encrypted backup whenever they like. No advertising, and nothing anyone writes is sold, shared with advertisers, or used to train a model.
Sincerity comes with Thread and Emberside, on one plan.
For everyone your church gives a seat to.
Sincerity is a journal, not care. It is not a substitute for a doctor, a counselor, or a pastor, and crisis support is reachable from anywhere in the app. If you are in danger, contact your local emergency services; in the United States, call or text 988.
